The Halversons were one of the first settlers in Northridge, CA when alfalfa and oranges were grown in abundance. The cross section of a water canyon below is reminiscent of when Northridge was once named Zelzah because of the water streams that was once there.

Mulholland was responsible for the viaducts and dams that gave LA its water source. He was also responsible for the break in the dam that almost flooded the area. The sky is painted from a men's tie textile worn during that era.

Doheny was an oil tycoon who drilled his first well in LA and is pictured here with an oil can at the Doheny mansion. The sky is painted in a wallpaper motif indicative of the era.

Will Rogers was called the Mayor of Beverly Hills, although he never was. He's painted here holding a bikini top made of western bandana at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Classic western cowboys in the sky are reminiscent of children's textiles from the 40's.

Wilshire is seated in this painting with his second wife at the curb of a modern day Wilshire Blvd and captures a long exposure of traffic on the street. The sky is a wallpaper motif indicative of the era.

Pio Pico is painted seated on a pinata in front of Pico House, a landmark in downtown LA.

Inspired by many trips to New Mexico... Sandia Mountain, Native Americans, and a buffalo that was featured on a film I worked on.
